Configure Modbus TCP Communication in Mech-MSR
This section introduces how to configure the Modbus TCP communication.
Configuration Process
Perform the following steps to configure Modbus TCP communication:
-
On the toolbar of Mech-MSR, click Communication Configuration.
-
Click the ▶ icon on the left of Modbus TCP to expand the settings.
-
Set the Byte order parameter. Set it based on the master device’s floating point byte order. For standard big-endian data, select DCBA; for standard small-endian data, select ABCD.
-
Set Slave ID according to your needs.
-
Enter the port of the host (Modbus TCP slave). The default port number is 502. It is recommended to set the port number to 50000 or larger.

If you want the Modbus TCP communication service to be auto-enabled the next time you open the solution, you can select the Auto-enable the service check box.
The Auto-enable the service check box cannot be selected for both the Modbus TCP and Adapter protocols. |
General Parameter
Execution timeout period for return command
The maximum timeout period from the external device sending the return command to the external device receiving a valid response or triggering a timeout error. The default value is 10 seconds.
After you configure the communication in Mech-MSR, you can go to Modbus TCP to learn the communication workflow.
