Software License
Mech-Mind uses CodeMeter from Wibu-Systems as the license system for its software. Starting from version 1.6.0, CodeMeter installer is included in the installation package of the software.
To use the CodeMeter software license, you will need to contact Mech-Mind sales to obtain the license dongle, as shown in the figure below. Mech-Mind will deliver the dongle by including it with the product, mailing it, or handing it over on-site.

Mech-Mind provides two types of license: trial license and full license.
Trial License
Trial software licenses are temporary and are given only when the license dongle cannot be received in time. |
If you need to obtain a trial license, please contact Mech-Mind sales to get a ticket code. Once you get the ticket code, follow the steps below to activate the trial license:

Go to Mech-Mind License WebDepot.

On the Welcome page, copy and paste the ticket code into the Ticket field, and click
Next
. -
On the page My Licenses, click
Activate Licenses
. -
On the page Available Licenses, click
Activate Selected Licenses Now

When the message License transfer completed successfully! appears, click
OK
.
If the license is successfully activated, you will see the license displayed in CodeMeter Control Center. |
Full License
Before proceeding, please make sure that:

Plug the license dongle into a USB port of the IPC.

Run the CodeMeter installer to install CodeMeter and then run it.
CodeMeter will read the license automatically the first time it operates.
Update Full Licenses
For full licenses that do not have perpetual authorization, follow the steps below to update the license:

After receiving a message from CodeMeter that the license is about to expire, please export the license request file and send it to Mech-Mind.

Mech-Mind will send back a license update file after updating the license.
Export the License Request File
When CodeMeter informs you that the License is about to expire, please export the license request file as instructed below:

Click
in the IPC system tray to open CodeMeter Control Center.

Select the license dongle whose license needs to be updated, and click License Update.

Click Next in the pop-up window.

In the CmFAS Assistant window, select Create license request, and then click Next.

Select Extend existing license, and then click Next.
-
Check the Mech-Mind box, and then click Next.
Do not choose other vendors. -
On the next page, click .. to select a location for saving the license request file, and then click Commit.
If licenses on multiple license dongles need to be updated, please repeat steps 2 to 7 to export a license request file for each dongle.

Send the license request file to Mech-Mind.
Update the License
After you send the license request file, Mech-Mind will send back a license update file in WIBUCMRAU format. You can update the license automatically or manually.
Automatic update: Double click the license update file to update the corresponding license.
Manual update:

Click
in the IPC system tray to open CodeMeter Control Center.

Select the license update file in WIBUCMRAU format returned by Mech-Mind and click License Update.

Click
Next
in the pop-up window. -
In the CmFAS Assistant window, select Import license request, and then click Next.

Click .. to select the license update file, and then click Commit.
It is recommended to try automatic update first. If automatic update fails, perform manual update instead. |
Check the License
Please check whether the license is updated successfully. Follow the steps below to check the license in Mech-Vision and Mech-Viz respectively.

Check the license in Mech-Vision
In the main interface of Mech-Vision, click
in the menu bar, and you can check the expiration time in the pop-up “About” window to see whether the license is updated successfully. -
Check the license in Mech-Viz
After opening Mech-Viz, click Help in the lower left corner of the File page, and you can check the expiration time in the “Version information” panel to see whether the license is updated successfully.
If the license has been successfully updated, you can end the license configuration. If not, please update the license again. If the problem persists, please contact Mech-Mind.
Troubleshoot Common Issues
Issue 1: The Delivered Software Licensing Device Cannot Be Used Directly

Symptom
Cannot use the delivered software licensing device to authorize the software.

Possible Cause
The license in the software licensing device is empty.

Solution
Contact Mech-Mind sales team.
Issue 2: The Software Licensing Device Is Not Recognized by the Computer

Symptom
The software licensing device is not recognized after being plugged into a USB port of the computer (green light off).

Possible Cause
-
The USB port is not working properly.

The software licensing device is defective.
-

Solution
Plug the software licensing device into a different USB port of the computer and check if its green light turns on.

If the green light is only off for a specific USB port, the port is defective. Use a functional USB port.

If the green light is off for all USB ports, test the software licensing device on another computer. If the green light is still off on this computer, the software licensing device is defective. In this case, contact Mech-Mind sales team for assistance.
